St. Edmund Prep Mourns the Passing of Firefighter Steven H. Pollard '06

Steven was a member of Ladder Company 170 in Brooklyn, and a 1 ½ year veteran of the FDNY. He died from critical injuries sustained while responding to a motor vehicle accident on the Mill Basin Bridge on the Belt Parkway.

"Steven's selfless dedication to the City of New York exemplifies all that we hope our graduates to be as they fulfill the mission of St. Edmund Prep," said Principal Allison McGinnis. "We pray that Steven's bravery will be an example for our students for generations to come."

We extend our deepest sympathies to his mother Janet, his father Raymond, a retired 32 year veteran of the FDNY, his brother Raymond '02, an 11-year veteran of the FDNY and to the entire Pollard family during this most difficult time. We mourn Steven's passing and ask the entire Prep community to keep Steven and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Eternal rest grant unto Steven, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
