The goals and ideals of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program have naturally fit with our school's mission to empower our students to become confident and self-disciplined participants in our global society. The Diploma Program (DP), offered to our 11th and 12th grade students has grown in the last five years. More and more of our students are recognizing the benefits of the program, not only for their college admissions, but for their future as a whole. Our faculty has embraced the IB approach to teaching and learning.
Because of this success, we have been asking ourselves how to bring these benefits to all of our students. In 2016, we received our answer in the form of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). The MYP is designed for students in our 9th and 10th grades and will bring the same approaches to learning and teaching that have seen much success in the Diploma Programme across the rest of our academic programs for all grade levels. We are currently a MYP Candidate School and working towards full certification and authorization to offer the MYP Programme. By offering this model of education to our underclassmen, we hope to instill the importance of lifelong learning and international mindedness earlier in their high school experience.
