April Guidance Office Update

As the seniors make final decisions regarding their university of choice, they have been asked to complete the 2017 Graduation Survey. This mandatory survey is located on Naviance’s homepage, and involves three (3) components. The first component involves post high school plans; the second requires detailed information regarding college and university decisions. For each college and university to which they’ve applied, seniors will click accepted, denied or deferred. Of utmost importance, they need to indicate where they will be attending in the Fall, as this is where the Guidance Office will send their Final Transcript. The final component involves scholarship monies received; seniors are asked to type the name of the scholarship received and the amount they have received for the total of four years. Congratulations to the seniors on all their diligent effort, abundance of acceptances and monies in scholarship received!

The juniors will soon begin their Guidance Groups, focusing on the college search, application tools and resources. They can find their scheduled Guidance Group period in both Home Logic and in their Homeroom. Naturally, a critical tool to the admission process is the standardized testing; a new development in this area is the administration of the SAT on August 26, 2017. A new feature found on Naviance is Roadtrip Nation Interview Archive! All students can log into Naviance and click on the Careers tab. Scroll down and click on this icon; there are interviews from professionals in a multitude of fields. This is an excellent opportunity to navigate possible careers of interest.
