An innovative program that offers a wonderful opportunity for sophomores! The NYU School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS) High School Academy Aspire Program is a two-year college prep and mentoring program for high school students from underrepresented communities in the New York metro/tri-state area, who will be first-generation college students. The program begins with a one-week college immersion intensive in the summer, followed by college prep workshops in the fall and spring to develop college, career, and leadership skills. Students apply as sophomores for the summer intensive and continue to attend Aspire workshops throughout high school. Successful applicants to the program must show academic improvement in high school and must be active in their local or school community. Each student admitted into the program will receive a full scholarship that covers tuition, housing, and meals for the one-week summer intensive. All students are paired with a mentor for the duration of the program and they will have an opportunity to engage with their mentor year-round through online and in-person meetings. This program will include workshops on:
We hope that you will share this life-changing experience with your students and provide them with an invaluable pathway toward their college goals and objectives.
