This past October, St. Edmund Prep student-athletes participated in a series of events to raise awareness as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our junior varsity and varsity girls’ volleyball teams hosted “Dig Pink” games in support of The Side Out Foundation for breast cancer research. Additionally, both the boys and girls volleyball programs played members of the Prep faculty in a student-faculty game on October 20th. All game admission, raffles and concession sales from both events were donated to The Side Out Foundation, totaling over $2,200. These successful events were spearheaded by the dynamic and dedicated leadership of junior Stephanie Cacace (pictured at left), and her efforts have not gone unnoticed. The Side Out Foundation has recognized Stephanie as an Ambassador and has awarded her one of four national scholarships based on her outstanding coordination of the SEP Dig Pink events.
