This past Tuesday, there was a record number of seniors who applied for Early Action! Seniors have been partnering with the Guidance Counselors during their senior guidance groups, utilizing the tools Naviance has to offer; in addition, they continue to meet and update their Counselors individually on a regular basis. Most universities and colleges have a deadline of January 1, 2017. As a way of ensuring that all application materials are accurate, the Guidance Department has set December 19, 2016 as the deadline for seniors to meet with their Counselors regarding college applications. We will begin meeting with seniors after Christmas break.
As the Seniors has been preparing their collegiate plans, the Freshmen have been acclimating to St. Edmund Prep’s family atmosphere. The Guidance Counselors will meet with the Freshman in Group Guidance sessions, beginning during the second quarter. It is during these sessions that Freshmen will learn study skills, strategies to cope with stress, ways to identify and resolve conflict, etc.
