The St. Edmund Prep varsity soccer team had an outstanding 2024 season, concluding the year with 12 wins, 2 ties, and 2 losses. The Eagles were crowned division champions for the second consecutive year, showcasing their relentless determination, skill, and teamwork. Under the guidance of Head Coach Wesly Gagerie and Assistant Coach Rob Luciano, the team demonstrated significant growth, perseverance, and unity. This effort culminated in a hard-fought championship game, where they finished as the runner-up after a competitive 2-1 match.
This year’s squad comprised 30 players, including freshmen and seniors, with an equal mix of 15 returning players and 15 newcomers. The team fostered a welcoming and supportive environment that contributed significantly to its collective success and strengthened its bonds.
Standout performances marked the season, notably with Antonio Luciano '27 earning the title of Most Valuable Player for his exceptional contributions throughout the year. Team captain Michael Sebastiano '25 provided steadfast leadership both on and off the field, keeping the team focused and motivated. The coaching staff, led by Coach Gagerie and Assistant Coach Luciano, worked diligently to create an atmosphere of discipline, growth, and collaboration.
A special thank you goes to the St. Edmund Prep administration and Athletic Office for their unwavering support and confidence in the team. Their encouragement played a vital role in making this season a success and enabling the players to thrive in their journey.
As back-to-back division champions, the Eagles have set a high standard and look forward to building on this year’s achievements. Congratulations to the players, coaches, families, and fans on a memorable 2024 season. Go Eagles!
